DREAM OF ONNIKO REGARDING HORSES
RASA'S INTERPRETATION OF A BELIEVER'S DREAM
Last night, I dreamed about two old horses which were
mine but which I had forgotten about.
I left these poor creatures alone and helpless in their stalls for how long, I could not remember!
Afraid that I'd go to the barn and find them dead, I ran to them and although they were lying on the ground and thin and weak, they were still alive.
One was white and sweet like a soul. The other was clay red and earthy.
I fed and watered them and cleaned their stalls but I remembered that I had
moved to a little town with no pasture for them.
I made their stalls as large as possible so they'd be comfortable but when I was finished, I saw that I'd left a wide empty space between the two stalls.
So, I took it down and then they both had lots of space.
I had forgotten to take care of both of them...it had just slipped my memory, you know, like when you leave the water running or something, and suddenly think "Oh no!" and run to see the damage. Except these were living beings and the damage I expected to see was heartbreaking.
I thought, I know I won't be riding these old horses but they deserve to live in a nice space and be taken good care of until they finally die a natural death.
In the dream, I had moved to a house I've never seen before in real life. It was old and white wood sided, a bungalow or maybe one and a half stories; I only saw it from the back. There were no other houses behind it and the town it was in was very small. Moving to this house seemed to have something to do with forgetting the horses. The town was very small but not rural, a nowhere kind of place.
What horses represent to me is very complicated, not just a single thing,
because I've owned horses and lived by a stable as a teenager.
They can be freedom, spirit, beauty, wealth, danger, and also fragile beings that need a lot of care.
The nose of the horse is divine. Nothing is as soft and velvety, the breath so warm and sweet smelling. And yet, the nostrils flare with energy and pride and sometimes, fear.
The ones needing a lot of care are the horses in stalls...stalled horses.
Those in the dream were stalled horses.
The horses were love and spirit, immediacy. The little town was surrounded
by bare fields which had an obvious feel of being nothing that I or my horses
could benefit from. But it seemed definitely wrong to move away to find a
better place. The only right thing was to care for the horses very well
where we were. That attention made their space healthy and clean and made
them know they were important anywhere or everywhere.
MEANING:
Last night, I dreamed about two old horses which were mine but which I had forgotten about.
MEANING: WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE DREAM YOU WILL SOON SEE THAT THESE OLD HORSES REPRESENT THE BODY AND SPIRIT
'Last night, I dreamed about two old horses which were
mine but which I had forgotten about.
I left these poor creatures alone and helpless in their stalls for how long, I could not remember!
Afraid that I'd go to the barn and find them dead, I ran to them and although they were lying on the ground and thin and weak, they were still alive.'
MEANING: THESE 'HORSES' - THE BODY AND SOUL HAD BEEN 'STALLED' IN THEIR EVOLUTION, IN THEIR UNION WITH GOD (OR SELF-REALIZATION, UNION WITH GOD.)
AFRAID SHE WOULD FIND THEM DEAD IS THE FEAR THAT SHE WOULD FIND HERSELF SPIRITUALLY DEAD, DISCONNECTED FROM GOD.
'One was white and sweet like a soul. The other was clay red and earthy.'
MEANING: THE WHITE HORSE IS THE SPIRIT, THE CLAY RED HORSE IS THE BODY
THIS SEEMS SELF EVIDENT, THAT THE WHITE WOULD BE THE TRANSPARENT 'SPIRIT', WHILE 'CLAY', WHICH IS THE EARTH, WOULD BE THE BODY. WE ARE 'DIVINE AND DIRT.'
I fed and watered them and cleaned their stalls but I remembered that I had moved to a little town with no pasture for them.
MEANING: HERE THE DREAMER HAS CLEANSED HERSELF (CONTRITION), AND WATERED AND FED HER SOUL BY GRACE. (THIS COULD HAVE ALL HAPPENED BY ONE ACTION OF REPENTENCE, AS THE GRACE AUTOMATICALLY FILLS THE SOUL. IT COULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN ONE ACT, SUCH AS MEDITATION AND PRAYER AFTER THE CONTRITION. IT IS NOTABLE THAT ONNIKO SHORTLY BEFORE THIS DREAM TOLD ME SHE WAS SORRY THAT OTHERS HAD HURT ME, AND WE BECAME FRIENDS.)
NO PASTURE MEANS NO NOURISHMENT. 'YOU LAY ME DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES' IS HOW THE LORD, IN HIS/HER GOODNESS, LEADS US TO A PLACE OF SPIRITUAL NOURSISHMENT. NO PASTURE IS THIS SOUL MOVED TO A PLACE OF CONSCIOUSNESS WHERE THERE WAS NO SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT.
I made their stalls as large as possible so they'd be comfortable but when I was finished, I saw that I'd left a wide empty space (path) between the two stalls.
MEANING: THIS REPRESENTS THE GULF, OR SPACE BETWEEN THE BODY AND SOUL, WHICH IS THE OPPOSITE OF 'UNION WITH GOD.' IN UNION WITH GOD, THE HUMANITY OF A PERSON MEETS AND MERGES WITH THE SPIRIT OF THAT PERSON, AND SO, GOD IN ME, AND MY FLESH, BECOME ONE. THE DREAMER SEES THIS AND DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
'So, I took it down and then they both had lots of space.'
MEANING: WHEN THE GULF BETWEEN BODY AND SOUL IS REMOVED, AND THERE ARE NO BLOCKS, IT IS A WONDERFUL THING.
'I had forgotten to take care of both of them...it had just slipped my memory, you know, like when you leave the water running or something, and suddenly think "Oh no!" and run to see the damage. Except these were living beings and the damage I expected to see was heartbreaking'
MEANING: IT IS EASY, IN THIS WORLD, TO FORGET THE PRINCIPLE OF UNION WITH GOD. THIS UNION NEEDS CONSTANT ATTENDING, EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE, SPIRITUAL FEEDING AND WATERING.
DAMAGE TO THE SOUL OR SPIRITUAL STATE CAN ALWAYS BE REMEDIED, AS LONG AS A PERSON IS STILL ALIVE. HOWEVER, WHEN ONE IS SPIRITUALLY DEAD, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BRING ONESELF BACK, UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE IS PRAYING FOR THEM. THAT IS WHY IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO FALL INTO 'MORTAL' SIN.
'I thought, I know I won't be riding these old horses but they deserve to live in a nice space and be taken good care of until they finally die a natural death.'
MEANING: HERE THE DREAMER ADMONISHES HERSELF FOR NEGLECT OF UNION WITH GOD, AND ONE SHOULD BE DILIGENT ABOUT IT, AND MAKE SURE IT IS VIABLE UNTIL THE MOMENT OF DEATH
'In the dream, I had moved to a house I've never seen before in real life. It was old and white wood sided, a bungalow or maybe one and a half stories; I only saw it from the back. There were no other houses behind it and the town it was in was very small. Moving to this house seemed to have something to do with forgetting the horses. The town was very small but not rural, a nowhere kind of place.'
MEANING: HERE, THE DREAMER EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPEND TO HER THAT SHE NEGLECTED HER ONENESS WITH GOD.
SHE MOVED OR ENTERED INTO A 'SMALL' OR 'NOWHERE' KIND OF PLACE. THIS MEANS
HER CONSCIOUSNESS, VISION AND UNDERSTANDING, SHRANK DOWN.
'What horses represent to me is very complicated, not just a single thing, because I've owned horses and lived by a stable as a teenager.'
'They can be freedom, spirit, beauty, wealth, danger, and also fragile beings that need a lot of care.'
MEANING: HORSES HERE MEAN ALL FACETS OF LIFE, BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT.
'The nose of the horse is divine. Nothing is as soft and velvety, the breath so warm and sweet smelling. And yet, the nostrils flare with energy and pride and sometimes, fear.'
MEANING: NOSE IS DISCERNMENT. THIS IS A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF THE DREAM, AS THE DREAMER DISCERNED SOMETHING WAS WRONG - SUDDENLY REMEMBERED HER NEGLECTED RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
NOSE IS SIMILAR TO THE SYMBOL OF DOG WITH ITS AMAZING SENSE OF SMELL. AS DOGS ARE INNER SENSES, NOSE ALSO REPRESENTS THE INNER SENSE OR GIFT OF DISCERNMENT.
'I SMELL A RAT' MEANS 'I SENSE SOMETHING IS WRONG. 'I SMELL TROUBLE' MEANS I SENSE TROUBLE.
SAINTS, BY A SPECIAL GIFT, CAN SMELL SOULS, EITHER GOOD OR BAD. THOSE IN SIN STINK, THOSE IN HOLINESS HAVE A SWEET HOLY SMELL.
WHEN I WAS BEING PURGED IN 1971-72 I SMELLED MY OWN FLESH BURNING, BUT IT WAS A STRANGE SMELL, LIKE NOTHING I HAD EVER SENSED BEFORE. MY THEN GURU TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS.
'The ones needing a lot of care are the horses in stalls...stalled horses.
Those in the dream were stalled horses.'
MEANING: WHEN SPIRITUAL LIFE IS STALLED, IT REQUIRES A LOT OF ATTENTION.
'The horses were love and spirit, immediacy. The little town was surrounded by bare fields which had an obvious feel of being nothing that I or my horses could benefit from.'
MEANING: THIS SEEMS LIKE A CALL TO INNER COMPUNCTION, AS THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT GIVES LITTLE NOURISHMENT, GOING DEEPER INTO ONESELF.
'But it seemed definitely wrong to move away to find a better place. The only right thing was to care for the horses very well where we were. That attention made their space healthy and clean and made them know they were important anywhere or everywhere.'
MEANING:
THIS IS THE PRINCIPLE THAT LIFE IS OUR GURU WHEREVER WE ARE,
'GOOD' OR 'BAD.' HERE THE HORSES, BODY AND SPIRIT, ARE IN A BAD ENVIRONMENT.
YET WE MUST ADJUST AND MAKE THE BEST OF IT AND FIND MEANING. IF ONE KEEPS
THE SPIRITUAL LIFE HEALTHY AND CLEAN, ONE CAN BE SATISFIED ANYWHERE. WHEN
THE SOUL IS RIGHT, ONE KNOWS THEY ARE IMPORTANT, ONE MAINTAINS THEIR SPIRITUAL
DIGNITY.
